For Families Of Inmates

Do you have a loved one who is currently incarcerated? We are here not just for the inmates but also for their families as well. Most of the inmates are incarcerated for drug and alcohol offenses and addiction affects the entire family. We have a list of resources that may help.

We have personally seen the power of God working in the lives of people. There is hope and we would like to share that hope with you. Please contact us with any needs you may have.

Here is some information that may be helpful to you regarding the jail. This information is provided as a courtesy and is subject to change at any time. Please contact the chaplain or the jail to verify any information.

Craighead County Jail Visitation Schedule:

Male Visitation

Friday    8:30 – 10:30
Saturday   1:00 – 3:00
Sunday   1:00 – 3:00

Female visitation

Thursday  8:30 – 10:30
Saturday   8:30 – 10:30

All visitors must arrive in 20 minutes before the close of each visitation. Each inmate may have up to 4 visitors (excluding small children) per visit and are only allowed one visit per week.

Pastors and clergy may visit during other hours but you may want to contact the chaplain first to make sure that it is during a time when the jail can accommodate that visit.

Personal Property

Personal Property can only be released on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 8:00 – 4:00

Money Orders must have the inmates name on it.

The inmates can purchase commissary items twice per week and this includes additional hygiene items, phone cards to make phone calls and food/candy items.

Inmates are allowed to have one religious book of their choice so you may bring a personal Bible to the facility and it will be given to them. We also provide brand new Bibles to all inmates who request them as well.

The inmates can attend chapel twice per week on Sunday and Wednesday/Thursday and we offer more in depth Bible studies that they can work on in their pods. We conduct baptisms once per month and if an inmate needs one on one spiritual counseling they may fill out a standard request form and send it to the chaplain and I will pull them out and speak with them.

The main thing that you can do is pray! Pray that they will use their time to seek the Lord and experience the change that only He can provide.

How The Family Can Help Booklet

Would you like to do the Bible studies with your family member while they are incarcerated? There is a series of six studies that I distribute in the jail and I have provided them here for download. If you are unable to print these out please contact me and I will drop the series in the mail for you. It would be a great encouragement for you to do these studies together with those who are incarcerated.
