About Us

The Craighead County Jail Ministry is a ministry that operates in the Craighead County Jail complex located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The unit has a inmate capacity of around 385 inmates at any given time and serves a county with a population close to 100,000.

We operate with the blessings and cooperation of the Sheriff’s Office which is headed by Sheriff Jack McCann. We hold several chapel services during the week to all groups inside the jail including men and women felony offenders, misdemeanor offenders and juveniles. We also offer one on one counseling and spiritual guidance, which is Biblically based, to inmates on a needed basis.

The facility was the first in the state of Arkansas to have a dedicated chapel building which is fully equipped with a modern sound system, heat and air and baptismal. God provided a beautiful place to hold chapel services with the inmates.

A group of faithful volunteers ministers to the inmates and hundreds of Bibles are distributed along with reading glasses and other reading material. An in depth Bible study course is facilitated by the chaplain who also oversees the religious programs at the jail and works directly with the Sheriff’s Office to make sure that the safety of the volunteers, jail staff and inmates is upheld at all times.

We have many needs at all times and you can see these on our Prayer Request page. You may make a donation at any time by mailing a check made out to Craighead County Jail Ministries to the address below.

The main thing that we need from you is prayer! Please pray for the inmates at the jail, the jail staff, the volunteers that give their sweat and time and for me as I seek to show God’s love to to those who are desperate to change their lives.

May God richly bless you as you walk with Him!
